I have to confess that even though my world is fashion and my passion is art, I was not aware of the great impact that art has in fashion and vice versa until I saw Dries Van Noten’s exhibition called 'Inspirations' at Les Arts Décoratifs. It's so surprising and so obvious that at the same time both art and fashion are accomplices as well as the perfect voice of what a society is trying to say. But the surprise was not only to discover what was already suspected but also to realize that behind this big fashion star was an art collector of such caliber. It was almost like watching a behind the scenes of what inspired year after year the most important creations by Dries! Behind the inspiration you could see them all, Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, Christopher Wool, Gerard Richter and many more…
That is why I came back home and asked myself: What impact did art have in the way I dress?
Here is the answer!
Look Andy Warhol
Look Christopher Wool
