David Mallett

16 July 2016

It’s not the first time that I went, obviously! David, besides being my friend, is my hairdresser, but I just don’t seem to get used to the magic experience that takes place in his astonishing hôtel particulier in the heart one of the most bohemian neighborhoods of Paris.

It’s not just about having the opportunity of being trimmed by the same scissors that just gave Natalie Portman or Karl Lagerfeld a haircut; it’s about the savoir-faire and glamour, all the characters that form a petit cour for the Emperor of La Coiffure.

Energy, human quality, culture, sophistication, understanding of beauty are some of the qualities in common among all of his team.

Next to David there is this other very famous and amazing hairdresser that reminds me of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Etienne just worked on a campaign with Lagerfeld only this time was not as a hairdresser but as a model, his looks are exotic and unforgettable.

Finally, I sat down with the most sought after scissors of France… time flew... David gave me a haircut in parts… First the back, then he disappeared and came back with a golden wood box that had a Geisha wig that he made me wear… Then he went back to trimming some more strands of hair and we started to talk about antiques and the Marché aux Puces, one of David’s passions. Just last week he got this fabulous old Polaroid camera, and so we started to play…

Thank you all for another incredible experience and see you all next haircut!
